How does it work?

Once registered (consult “How to subscribe”), ensure that your subscription is active.

Using the Bizi service is very easy. When you reach a station, pass your card across the reader or key in your access code and password (if you have a temporary subscription) and follow the instructions that appear on the screen.

Once the system assigns you a docking station number, you can take your bicycle. Check that the bicycle is in good order (brakes, wheels, adjust the seat...). If you notice any problems or faults, return the bicycle to any free point in the station within three minutes and repeat the operation so that the system releases a new bicycle.

If any incident occurs when you are removing the bicycle, contact Bizi by telephone on 902 31 99 31. On the service’s website, in the contact section there is a special mailbox and email address where any incidents can be reported. There is also an app for mobile phones and tablets, both for Android and Apple iOS. BiziZGZ lets you immediately report any incidents with securing a bicycle in use. It also offers information in real time on the situation of stations.

Bizi bicycles are known for their comfort and ergonomic design. They also have:

  • Wide and ergonomic handlebars
  • Adjustable seat
  • 3 speed gears
  • Kickstand in the rest position
  • System of automatic lights at night
  • Non-slip pedals
  • Front bike carrier

Use it for your journeys

Bizi is understood as a shared means of transport that lets you travel from one point of the city to another.

Remember that every time you take a bicycle the first 30 minutes of use are free; after this time, the costs in fractions of 30 minutes up to two hours are applied.

If you have an annual subscription, after two hours of continuous use, as well as the corresponding charges, a penalty will be applied. If you accumulate three uses of over two hours, your subscription will be blocked.

If you have a temporary subscription, you will be suspended definitively from the service if you exceed the two hours of continuous use just once.

* A journey is understood as the trip made by bicycle after being removed from one station until it is correctly returned to the same station or another.

Timetable of the Bizi service

The service is in operation 365 days a year with this timetable:

  • From Monday to Thursday: The service operates from 6am to 12am; after this, bicycles may only be returned.
  • Fridays and the eve of public holidays: The service operates from 6am to 1am; after this, bicycles may only be returned.
  • Saturdays: The service operates from 8am to 1am; after this, bicycles may only be returned.
  • Sundays and public holidays: The service operates from 8am to 12am; after this, bicycles may only be returned.

Subscriber Telephone Helpline 902 31 99 31.

Helpline service with operator: from Monday to Friday from 5am to 12am; Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays 24 hours a day.

After using a bicycle, you should return it to the nearest station to your destination. Bicycles should never be left in the street. Introduce the front clamps into a free docking station showing a green light. Ensure that the red light shows after docking. Check that you cannot take the bicycle out of the docking station.

Pass your card across the reader or key in your access code and password if you have a temporary subscription. The following message should appear on the screen: “bicycle returned correctly”; this is your guarantee that the bicycle appears as having been returned.

If the message “you have a bicycle in use” appears, you should contact Bizi using the Subscriber Telephone Helpline 902 31 99 31. On the service’s website, in the contact section there is a special mailbox and email address in order to report any incidents. There is also an app for mobile phones and tablets, both for Android and Apple iOS. BiziZGZ lets you immediately report any incidents with securing a bicycle in use.

This process has been verified by the audit company Bureau Veritas:

The data obtained corroborate that, on passing the card across the reader after each use, when the station screen indicates “bicycle returned correctly”, its correct return is guaranteed and the computer data can be tracked.

With these data the POSITIVE VERIFICATION of the bicycle return process by Bizi is concluded.

Electronic receipt

You are issued with an electronic receipt that is also valid as an invoice, which can be printed in your Subscriber Area 15 minutes after returning a bicycle.

This receipt is generated in all journeys that are longer than the free 30 minutes. This receipt contains detail on the use in question: the time and station of collection of the bicycle, the time and station of return of the bicycle and the total amount paid.

The charges corresponding to the renewal of the service will also generate an electronic receipt that is also valid as an invoice.

Make good use of Bizi. Always follow these guidelines:

Always respect the Conditions of Use of the Service.

Whenever possible, use the bike lanes or areas set aside for the circulation of bicycles for your journeys.

Both the annual card and temporary code are personal and non-transferable.

No-one else can be carried on the bicycle; the only authorised person is the subscriber.

When riding the bicycle, pay particular attention to the blind spot of other vehicles, especially cars, van and above all lorries, which have very limited visibility due to their raised position. They are the main reason behind bicycle accidents, so go carefully and try to stay within the angle of vision of other vehicles.

The subscriber is totally responsible for the bicycle from the time it is taken from a station until it is returned correctly to the same station or another station. The bicycle should not be attached to trees, traffic lights, benches or waste bins, or parked in front of loading and unloading areas or disabled parking spaces.

You should respect the rules in place regarding the circulation of bicycles. Download the bylaws.

This service is prohibited for minors under 16 years old. People between the ages of 16 and 18 need a signed authorisation from their parent or legal guardian. This should be taken to the Customer Service Office before users can subscribe to the service. Consult the documentation needed for this procedure at “How to subscribe”.

Bicycles within the Bizi system cannot be used or transported on other means of public transport such as buses, trams or trains.

The bicycles cannot be used on bus lanes.

When travelling by bicycle on the road, you should respect the traffic laws in place just like any other vehicle.

And it is very important that you...

Pay attention to traffic lights and respect pedestrian crossings.

Always respect the priority of people on foot.

Indicate in advance when you are going to overtake or change direction.

If you wish to take out a bicycle and the station is empty, pass your card across the reader, or key in your access code and password if you have a temporary subscription, and the screen will indicate nearby stations that have bicycles available.

Remember that every time you take a bicycle the first 30 minutes of use are free.

After this time, the corresponding charges in fractions of 30 minutes up to two hours are applied, according to the costs at that time. “Costs”.

As well as the penalty, a charge of €200 will be made on the subscriber’s credit/debit card if the bicycle is not returned within 24 hours of being removed from a station.

If there are no spaces for the bicycle at the destination station, pass the card across the reader, or key in your access code and password if you have a temporary subscription, and you will obtain ten more minutes free, as well as information on nearby stations where you can return the bicycle.
